Itinerary

Day 1Short Inca Trail to Machu Picchu Full Day

We will start very early from our hotel in Cusco. We will travel to Ollantaytambo by private transport, enjoying mountain views along the Sacred Valley. We will board the train at Ollantaytambo station and ride to KM 104, the official starting point of the Short Inca Trail one day hike. The journey will offer spectacular scenery, passing rivers, snow-capped peaks, and lush valleys.

We will begin the Short Inca Trail to Machu Picchu at 2,100 meters above sea level. Our guide will explain the route, provide snacks, and ensure everyone is ready. We will visit the site of Chachabamba, a ceremonial complex with impressive stonework. We will learn about its religious significance before continuing along the trail.

We will hike through cloud forest filled with orchids, hummingbirds, and butterflies. The path will include stone steps, narrow passages, and steady climbs. We will reach Wiñay Wayna, standing at 2,650 meters above sea level. This site will showcase agricultural terraces and water channels that demonstrate Inca genius. We will enjoy a picnic lunch nearby and take time to explore.

Our private transport will return us to Cusco late in the evening.
