Itinerary

Day 1Cusco – Abra Málaga – Santa María – Santa Teresa

We will leave Cusco early in the morning and enjoy a scenic 3½-hour drive to Abra Málaga. Mountains, rivers, and small villages will surround us along the way. Upon arrival, we will have a hearty breakfast and the guide will prepare our biking equipment.

From Abra Málaga, we will start cycling downhill toward Huamanmarca. The trail will cross snow-capped peaks, cloud forests, and small streams. We will stop along the way to take photos and admire the tropical jungle scenery.

In the afternoon, we will reach Santa María and enjoy a delicious lunch. Afterwards, we will experience rafting on the Vilcanota River. The guide will explain safety tips, and we will navigate the rapids together.

After rafting, we will take a private transfer to Cocalmayo hot springs. We will relax in the warm pools before heading to Santa Teresa for the night. Sleeping bags and hostels will provide comfort, and we will rest under starry skies.

Next, we will take a short transport to Hidroeléctrica, the starting point for our trek to Aguas Calientes. The trail will pass rivers, small waterfalls, and lush forests. We will see orchids, moss, and tropical birds along the way.

The guide will show Inca ruins, including Intihuatana, and explain their cultural importance. We will take short breaks to enjoy snacks and coca tea. Hiking boots and aid kits will help us along the 11 km trail.

We will arrive in Aguas Calientes in the afternoon. The hostel will provide comfort, dinner, and time to explore the town. Nights will be warm and peaceful, surrounded by jungle sounds.
