Itinerary

Day 1 Aguas Calientes - Machu Picchu - Return to Aguas Calientes

We will begin our Machu Picchu Trip with an early breakfast at our hotel in Aguas Calientes. We will prepare for the adventure with proper gear, cameras, and comfortable walking shoes. We will walk to the bus station located near the center of Aguas Calientes. We will join the line of travelers and take a short but scenic ride.

We will ascend along a winding mountain road for about 25 minutes. The bus will take us through lush subtropical forest with breathtaking views of the Urubamba River below. We will reach the entrance gate to Machu Picchu at 2,430 meters above sea level. We will meet our professional guide and begin our exploration of this Wonder of the World.

We will step into the citadel and feel the energy of Inca history. We will walk along agricultural terraces that overlook deep valleys. We will visit the Temple of the Sun, known for its astronomical importance. We will continue toward the Intihuatana Stone, which served as a sacred solar clock. We will also explore the Temple of the Condor and the Main Plaza, where Inca ceremonies once took place.

We will spend about two to three hours inside the citadel. We will take time to admire the flawless stonework and panoramic views of the Andes. After exploring, we will board the bus back to Aguas Calientes. We will return to our hotel to rest or enjoy local markets and restaurants. We will reflect on the unforgettable Machu Picchu Trip and prepare for the return journey to Cusco or Ollantaytambo..
